Ngoc M. Ha
I have developed an obsession with speaking to myself. My work is motivated by my desire to record fragments of my sentimentality. Capturing both impactful and mundane aspects of everyday life, I hope to communicate themes of human expression (emotions, sexuality, and mediocrity) that shape individuals. I use various mediums such as painting and printmaking as a vessel to archive these moments of ephemerality. The cadences of my own emotions can be enigmatic. Sonder describes the realization that each random passerby has a life rich, complex and vivid as oneself. These moments of mundanity can be the thread that ties us together, like an invisible embrace. I hope to explore these emotions through a sonder lens and evoke this invisible embrace within my work.
